Hi everyone,

I ride street+trials mainly but recently purchased a used Devinci Moonracer in hope of picking up XC. Does this club do weekly rides / race training / general meetings? I'd like to know the details of the club and perhaps join it. I'd love to get into racing this season.

There is a development MTB

There is a development MTB ride Monday evenings starting in May. There is a steadier paced MTB ride on Wednesday evenings. Both these are at the Waterloo CC Trails - a.k.a Hydrocut. If you want to ride hard to get into race shape then one of Tuesday night road groups will certainly challenge you. For racing check out the OCA website where you can read about the O-cup series. These races are age/ability based and held on short multi-lap courses. Many of the "citizen" races like Paris to Ancaster, Lake-to-lake, and the Squeezer are point to point or long loops. The marathon series is also held on long loops.

That said, what does joining

That said, what does joining this club specifically do for me? I know I'll pay for insurance and such thihngs, but what are the benefits? I see that there are rides on a weekly basis, but when do they start?

I'm looking to get into shape but I do not have a road bike. I plan to train on my XC bike. How's that for a plan?
