Just forwarding a link to a local event which features a 120km cycling route along the boundaries between urban and rural in the Waterloo Region. Starting in St.Jacobs https://uwaterloo.ca/environment/news/env-grads-hold-line-anti-sprawl-festival

Only $20 to register, and that includes one drink and one food token!

Here’s the Strava file of the 120km route: https://www.strava.com/routes/10064196

    More details:

Just registered, and so far the weather forecast looks excellent – 24 degrees and mixed sun/cloud!

    Anyone else interested?

I emailed them concerning water/rest stops for the event. This is the reply I got:

We will have one water/food/rest station on the 120km ride at the south end of Cambridge. We also have a rescue van if anyone runs into tough times mid-route.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or suggestions on how we can make this a great experience for you.

60km would put the rest station around Highway 24 according to the Strava route. I would suggest to bring plenty of fluids/food just in case.

I am tempted to make it an epic ride day by biking to and from the event.

I’m officially signed up. I didn’t pay for parking so I guess I am biking there.

Right Farid…SATURDAY Sept. 16th! I got the date right but not the day. Unfortunately I don’t know of any way to correct the thread title. I’ll check with Jason and Kari.

There are some of us from the University of Waterloo cycling club that are interested in the event. We will be meeting up at University and Philip at 9am to ride out to the start line. The ride starts at 10 am.

This was a great ride and event. We had a very compatible group which was mainly WCC and UW Cycling Club members and enjoyed about 130km in the best weather imaginable. The route was great, well marked and the beer, food and music after were awesome.
