The WCC Tuesday Night Cross Riders, lost in the dark, somewhere north of Waterloo in Mennonite country.
This is a ride for maintaining or even improving cycling fitness through the Winter and getting a head start in the early Spring. The emphasis is on making real cyclists by getting people weened off indoor training. Our goal is to keep fit WHILE having FUN.
The meeting spot is the St. Jacobs Outlet Mall at 6:30 PM. These are night rides so headlights and tail lights are needed (there will be one-time loaner lights available). On wet days, fenders will be required as well.
Rides are approximately 70 kms in 2.75 hours (not all riding time) on old forgotten paths, community trails, rail-trails and gravel roads. Comments were heard that the intensity of the workout was comparable to the Group 1 on Tuesday Road Rides; yet Group 3-4 riders had no problem in keeping up.
