Novice Road Ride & Bike Maintenance Clinic

The Wednesday Night Novice Road Ride will be starting it’s second season as soon as the weather clears in April. An orientation meeting will be held Wednesday April 4th at 7:30pm in Lions Room, 200 at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex. This meeting will be an information session providing an opportunity for new riders to ask questions and help shape the Wednesday Novice road ride program. If you are new to road riding or road riding in a group, this is the place to start.

We will covering:

  • Discussion of how the WCC rides are organized, groups of riders, (max 12 riders per group) in the parking lot with 2 ride leaders
  • What is the difference between Wednesday night and Tuesday night rides
  • 3 basic formations, single file, two up, rotating pace line (videos)
  • Group riding etiquette, communication, taking your turn, etc.
  • Changing a tire and basic bike maintenance
  • Homemade power bar recipes
  • Question & Answer session
