Ride Leaders Meeting

What: Updates on being a ride leader and discussion on how the WCC can grow the ride leader program
When: Wednesday April 26th 8pm to 9pm
Where: Waterloo Rec Centre – Front Half of Hauser Haus

Ride Leaders are essential to the success of WCC rides.  The WCC is looking for help from our members to grow the ride leader program, which means members identifying that they are interested in being rides leaders and helping us understand how the ride leader program can be better.

The majority of our time in the Ride Leaders Meeting will be discussing how we can make this a better program for all.

    Hi,

Is the ride leader meeting directed at Road Riding or is this relevant for Mountain Bike and CX / Gravel Grinder leaders too?

    Thanks,
    Bill

    Great question Bill!

The Ride Leader meeting is for all ride leaders. We’re looking forward to hearing what’s working and what can be improved across ride leading within all of our ride types.

One thing I’m curious to hear discussion on is Ride Organizing/Coordinating versus being a Ride Leader for a group.

Hey! I’m interested in the Learn to Group Ride course. Do people need to attend the orientation to participate?

    Hi Gwyneth,

We strongly recommend the orientation, but it is not a requirement.

Is there a cost involved with the LTGR course if your a WCC member ?

    • JasonPollard

      No cost beyond a membership!

The program is led by Craig McDonald and a great group of club volunteers who offer their time to teach group riding skills and show how inclusive, safe and social group riding can be.

Hoping this question isn’t too late, but is there any value to coming me if I arrive late? I probably can’t make it much sooner than 7:30pm. I was hoping to attend the full hour.
