Learn To Group Ride Orientation Session & Ride Leaders Meeting – Apr 27

Learn To Group Ride 2016 Orientation Meeting, April 27

Session starts at 7 pm in the “Upper Viewing Lounge” at the Albert Mccormick Centre (500 Parkside Drive, Waterloo)

This orientation session will provide members and non-members with information about the six week Learn To Group Ride program. The ride itself is an instructional ride with the emphasis on learning to cooperate with other riders on a group ride. Riders will be divided into groups of 12 or less with experienced Ride Coordinators assigned to each group. This is not a fitness boot camp. The pace of the groups will be appropriate for learning the necessary skills and etiquette to be successful at other club road rides. The average pace will vary from group to group based on fitness and equipment used (e.g. road bikes vs. hybrids), and an effort will be made to find an appropriately paced group for each rider. All types of bikes are allowed, but you are encouraged to use a hybrid or road bike where possible. The six week program runs from May 4 to Jun 8, 2016 unless extended due to weather cancellations.

Note: you do not need to be a WCC member to attend the orientation meeting, but you must be a member to participate in any club rides – including the LTGR program.

Following the LTGR orientation session there will be a Ride Leaders meeting for current and prospective Ride Leaders.
