Proud To Announce Our Youth Development Program

Cycling is a tough sport that requires lots of energy and motivation. Fortunately, Waterloo Region is full of tough, energetic and smart young people!

Our goals are to:

  • Get our young riders to enjoy road riding in a safe environment!
  • Develop the next generation of cycling advocates and club leaders.
  • Develop the next generation of provincial, national and international level athletes.

What: Structured road sessions for all skill levels that focus on skills early in the season and fitness later in the season.

Who: Youth between the ages of 12 and 17 with an interest in the sport of cycling.

When/Where:

Wednesday Skills (6:30-8:00) – Starting May 14

Monday Sprint Training (6:30-8:00) – Starting May 19

Program Details

  • Fully supervised by certified coaching staff and race leaders.
  • Road bikes are not required.

Additional Information

  1. All youth cyclists must be registered in the wcc youth program. The fee for a youth membership is $10.
  2. If you are not sure whether this program is appropriate for your child, you can have them participate once at no cost under the OCA try a club program.
  3. All youth cyclists must have a bike in good working order and a properly fitted helmet.
  4. Please watch the website forum, facebook, and/or twitter for possible changes in location or cancellation due to weather.
